KGI: iPhone 8 to feature 3D Touch Technology with pressure sensitive sensor with flexible OLED display

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that the next generation iPhone 8 will feature 3D Touch Technology with higher pressure sensitive sensors with flexible OLED display. Kuo expects Apple to switch from an “FBCB sensor to a film sensor,” which means it will feature a wider range of 3D Touch pressure levels, and an overall higher sensitivity.

In addition to that, iPhone 8 is switching from the traditional LCD IPS panel to a flexible OLED screen curved at the edges. So in addition to the radical new design, KGI has has predicted that iPhone 8 will have a new improved 3D Touch system for enhanced pressure sensitivity.

Kuo also says that Apple is working on an optical fingerprint sensor for iPhone 8 which may eventually replace fingerprint scanning with full-face recognition for authentication and unlock.

iPhone 8 is also expected to feature IP68 water resistance, glass casing in order to support wireless charging, OLED display, 3D camera, bezel less and more.
