Apple planning to make all the iPhones using OLED Displays by 2019


According to the report from The Bell, Apple is expected to use OLED displays on all the upcoming iPhones by 2019. Currently Apples next iPhone 8 is said to use the OLED display technology for the first time.  

Apple is planning to use to OLED display technology on 60 million units of iPhone 8 this year and will be producing all other iPhone models using the OLED displays by 2019.

The reports also claim that there will be three new models for iPhone in 2017: iPhone 8 with OLED displays, iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus. The iPhone 7s and 7s Plus will be using the same old LCD based displays.

The parts required for iPhone 8 is under production. Samsung Electro-Mechanism is expanding the $88 million plant in Vietnam to produce the parts for iPhone 8. Samsung has been the major supplier for iPhones part.

iPhone 8 or iPhone X is expected to come with an OLED display with embedded Home Button featuring Wireless Charging, and Iris scanning technology and since Apple’s 10th Anniversary will be the major update, iPhone 8 will feature 3D Touch Technology with higher pressure sensitive sensors with flexible OLED display featuring 5.8inch OLED edge to edge displayWireless Charging, Touch ID built into display, Second touch sensitive display on lower bezel, Smart connector, 10nm A11 chip, Dual 12mp wide angle + telephoto lens vertical3D camera technology and more
