iOS 11 which will be released later this year has some serious features to offer. Among that is the ability to disable the already captured Depth Effect photos in Portrait Mode. You can easily edit and enable or disable the Depth Effect that were taken in Portrait Mode. Portrait Mode is an exclusive feature on iPhone 7 Plus that creates a blurry effects to the background giving it a virtual depth of field also known as Depth Effect.

Previously in iOS 10, you were able to save either the Depth Effect photo only or save both normal and Depth Effect photos which would take a lot of space on your iPhone. But with the help of iOS 11 new API and HEIC encoded image format, you will be able to take only one photo and later enable or disable the Depth Effect on your photos.

Here is How to Disable Blur Effect on a Portrait Mode Photo in iOS 11

Step 1: Launch Photos and find an image with Depth Effect

Step 2: Tap the Edit Button

Step 3: At the top of your screen, you will see a Depth Effect Button in Yellowish Color. (This means the Depth Effect is enabled on that Photo)

Step 4: Tap the Depth Effect button and it will then convert the Depth Effect image to the Normal Photo

If you wish to re-enable the Depth Effect on a photo, simply tap the Depth Effect again.

This is a must have feature for iOS users. You no longer have to save two photo and it saves a lot of space on your iPhone 7 Plus.

iOS 11 will be released later this year but the beta version is already out for public. It is not stable and has lots of bug at this time. But you can install iOS 11 beta to try out all its features. You can always downgrade to previous version if you wish to.
