Nintendo has confirmed its upcoming endless runner game ‘Super Mario Run’ game
for iOS will require a Continual Internet Connection to play due
to security reasons. That is you can’t play Super Mario Run in Offline Mode so

connection to play due to piracy concerns or to prevent piracy as confirmed by
Shigeru Miyamoto in an interview with Mashable.
be able to play Super Mario Run when you are in Offline Mode, Flight Mode or you don’t have
an Internet Connection or Wi-Fi connection. As many iOS games need an internet
connection to play likewise you need an active internet connection all the time
Miyamoto also notes that at one time they thought of having the World Tour
[story] mode available to play offline; however, when operating in standalone
mode it complicates the connection back to the Toad Rally and Kingdom modes.
“Because those two modes are relying on the network save, we had to
integrate the World Tour mode as well.”
Super Mario Run will be released on December 15th and is launching to 150
countries around the world.
Run can be downloaded from the App Store at no cost, and players can try
elements of the game’s three modes for free. Once the game has been downloaded,
a one-time payment of $9.99 (United States price) will grant unlimited access
to each of the three modes in this release.
Run is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices running iOS 8.0 or
later and Super Mario Run supports English, Japanese, German, French,
Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Russian and traditional Chinese language.
