Samsung launches Galaxy S9 and S9+ with rear dual camera, AR Emoji and Powerful Internals

Samsung launched it’s flagship smartphone Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ to compete against Apple’s iPhone X.

The Galaxy S9 and S9+ is identical to the last years Galaxy S8 in terms of design but the internal has changed a lot. Samsung has added some new features to the new smartphone like dual camera on back, AR Emoji, and so on.

The new smartphone from Samsung comes in two different sizes: 5.8 inch with QHD+ display and the bigger 6.2 inch with QHD+ Infinity Display. There is slightly reduction in bezels but is unnoticeable.

In terms of specs, the Galaxy S9 is packed with Snapdragon 845 chipset for US variants and for international variant, it is powered by Exynos 9810 chipset. Besides chipset, the smaller Galaxy S9 has 4GB RAM whereas the bigger S9+ has 6 GB of RAM. Both device comes with 64 GB internal storage with micro SD slots, NFC, LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, USB C, Headphone jack and an improved IRIS scanner.

The battery power on Galaxy S9 and S9+ are 3000mAh and 3500mAh respectively.

One thing that Samsung added is dual aperture rear camera that can shoot photos even in very low light condition. Also another cool thing about camera is, it can now shoot super slow motion video at 960 frames per second in 720p resolution.

Dual rear camera is only available on Galaxy S9+ models. The front camera has 12 MP just like in Note 8 which can also take portrait selfies.

Another feature that’s added to Galaxy S9 is AR Emoji that can create 3D facial character by using over 100 facial points. Check out the video that will be linked at the end of this post.

The Galaxy S9 is priced at $719.99 while the S9+ is priced at $839.99 and will be available to pre-order starting from March 2 and the handset will roll out on March 16 this year.
